Speciality and tailor-made wines
The very aristocratic Grand Cru Steinert originates from the most abrupt part of our vineyards, calcareous and dry Schauenberg-mountain, perfect for the variety Gewurztraminer.
This elegant wine is best served at great occasions, as aperitif or to accompany the tasty goose liver

GEWURZTRAMINER Cuvée Particulière 1990
You read right, vintage 1990, an exellent year for our vineyard. Giving a very elegant Gewurztraminer that can be forgotten in your personnel cave for years. With its rich character, close to late harvest grapes, it is very smooth, supple and light. Great for aperitifs, goose liver salad or fried goose liver.

Oak barrel wines
Our wines that have been matured in oak barrels have the characteristiques of all noble wines. We started to use the oak coming from the Vosges mountains (east of France) in early 1990’s and the experience was very successful. In 1997 we enlarged the selection of oak to those coming from Troncay (middle of France) and Missouri (USA). This experience gave us two different characters of wine. Our Pinot Noir is matured in barrels with oak from Troncay is very supple, elegant and bares the aroma of forest berries. On the other hand Pinot Noir matured in the barrels with oak from Vosges or Missouri is more woody with notes from underwood.
Our Pinot Blanc 1998 is very rich in oak tannin, but with its youth is deserves to be kept some year more in the cave. If you cannot resist to taste it already, remember to open it early and let it breathe while preparing your calf served with cream sauce.
