Late Grape Harvest and Selection of Noble Grains
The Late Grape harvest and Selection of Noble Grains are vinified only from
type of vines identical to those chosen for the Great Vintages, collected
in surmaturity, often several weeks after the official beginning of the
grape harvest. They are vinified only when the vintage year quality is
exceptional.
The phenomenon of concentration and the development of the noble rot
(Botrytis cinérea) is added to the aromatic character of vine. This is
particularly present in vintage 1989, thus creating the reference for the
century in Late Grape Harvest and Noble Grains.
In the Late Grape harvest young vintages carry perfumes specific to their
grape variety, gently adding notes of candied fruits, maturing slowly to
powerful, well rounded and balanced wine. Vintage 1989 has reached the
excellency of this harvest. It is aromatically rich, balanced and offers a
good lenght in palate. In younger vintages our Gewurztraminer Vendange
Tardive 2003 and especially our Grand Cru Steinert 1999, harvested on the
january 3rd 2000, are the best choises to appreciate the youth and to
follow their maturity to full aroma.
On our selection of Grains Nobles Humbrecht our Tokay and Gewurztraminer
offer at first discrete honey nose to be appreciated with delicacy and
meditation! They accompany graciously a good goose liver plate, but offer
by themselves the superbe nectar that fills your aromatic expectations. Our
1989 vintage of Noble Grains are maturing marvelously and will be able to
treat your palates deliciously in a few years. Keep them a while in you
cellar and the delight is guaranteed...
